The spectral highlights on the water are really neat, they have stars in them just like the sun. Is that a result of the M8's processing or the lens? What focal length is it?

Thanks Mike, I can't be sure, because I haven't used this 15mm Cosina lens on a film camera, or the RD1 yet. No filter was used, and several photos with the lens at 5.6 and at f8 exhibited the same behavior when shooting into the sun. I took these photos using a 21mm external finder (the equiv. focal length for the 15mm on the M8) very quickly as I'm used to using cloth shutter cameras. I wanted to see how the lens handled flare, but didn't expect either the sun cross-star effect, or the pattern on the water.
