Snoopy, where are you?
We've had this Snoopy for about 10 years, and usually put him out right after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, someone took him a few weeks ago. Unbelievable.

Epson R-D1 IR tests with synthetic black objects
Does the Epson R-D1 digital rangefinder have issues with IR filtering like the Leica M8? I'll let you be the judge. In the following 6 photos, 6 black objects, most with synthetic materials, but all appearing very close to the same black color, though with different textures are photographed.
The only difference in the six photos are white balance settings. The camera is set for normal JPG mode, with standard film emulation mode. ISO is 800, exposure is F2 @ 1/60th. Lens is a Rokkor 40/2. Distance is 1.3 meters.
The lighting is complex, there is slight daylight coming from in front and behind the objects, and there is also an incandescent light bulb in the room pointing upwards and reflecting down on the off-white ceiling.
